U19 is an advanced level that is played in 12-a-side. In this division the focus is on safe contact and more position specific skill development. Players will continue to learn football fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship, as they develop into young athletes. U19 Spring tackle gives “new to” and current High School athletes a head start in preparing for the High School season.
Ages: 14 years old to 18 years old, must be entering Grade 10 in the fall and NOT currently in Grade 12 in that calendar year. No individual entering Grade 12 at any time during the school year of the current season will be eligible to play in the U19 level. Open to all genders!
Regular Season begins mid-February and continues to the end of May.
Practices will begin for the season in February, 2 - 3 days per week. Starting with non-equipment practices in February then moving into equipment practices in March. Practices will be held at a variety of indoor & outdoor spaces, depending on the time of year, such as Sherwood Park High School Gymnasiums, Foote Field, Brentwood Elementary field, Emerald Hills Turf Field, Taurus Turf Field, Turf Training Centre, and Homefield Turf.
Games are held once per weekend starting at the end of March. Game locations can be located in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, Camrose, St. Albert, and various other fields in and around Edmonton. Some travel may be required to to fields in Lloyminster, Fort McMurray, Calgary, Red Deer, Camrose area.
