U16 (formerly Bantam) is an advanced level that is played in 12-a-side. Occasionally we may run a 9 on 9 team, based on registration. Athletes aged 13-15 and NOT entering into Grade 10 in that calendar year. In this division the focus is on safe contact and more position specific skill development. Players will continue to learn football fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship, as they develop into young athletes.
The Spring Session begins with no-equipment & non-contact in early June, then tackle practice for 2 weeks later in June.
Regular Season begins early August and continues to the end of October. With City Championship and Provincial Championships happening into mid-November
Practices will begin for the spring season in June, and for the fall season, the first week of August. Majority of practices will be held at the Brentwood Elementary field, in Sherwood Park Alberta.
Games are held once per weekend starting in September. Game locations can be located in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, Wetaskawin, Camrose, St. Albert, and various other fields in and around Edmonton. Some travel may be required to to fields in Lloyminster, Fort McMurray, Calgary, Red Deer area.
